Rashid looks like he lost himself in thoughts about Africa. Also he has never seen Africa in his life.

You know, I was never really interested in cheetahs... scrawny little buggers, but I do like the poses you've captured. Makes me think there's more to them than I ever thought. :)

Cheetahs are actually very handsome. Also they do look scrawny. But they're nevertheless very elegant and quiet nice. Atleast measured by Big Cat standards.

Haha, of course by Big Cat standards, unless you've spent that much time hanging out with the cheetahs that you can say it on a personal level? But I envy you get to spend that much time in a zoo! Fun fun. :D

Noo... but I'd love to!
They keep the cheetahs in an enclosure which is only seperated by some kind of mesh fence. I think they would never do that with tigers. So they can't be that bad.

Very true, unfortunately my favorite big cats don't rank very high on the cuddly factor. Hooray for reinforced fencing and deep moats around tiger cages. *sigh*

My favourite big cats aren't the cuddliest either. And unfortunatly all the Leopards are kept in cages with ugly bars around here.
But the tiger enclosures are really neat. The one were I take most of my shots at has one enclosure with out any fencing and just a deep moat and a wall where you stand upon. The mother/child enclosure doesn't have such a deep moat but glass and the water reaches to the glass. Maybe you've seen my Water Lover photo? There the tigers can get really close to the people. You'd surely love it.
The only down point is that both of those enclosures are surrounded by high fake stone and in winter the sun barely gets in the enclosure which makes pretty bad lighting for photography.

I didn't realize how the enclosure worked in that pic. That is soo cool. Most exhibits I've seen there's a lethargic tiger tucked away in some far corner half hidden by brush. I want to go visit your zoo! Bum deal about the walls though. Don't zoo people realize the importance of good lighting? Sheesh. Can't get good design these days. Excepting the glass wall. Perhaps they overtaxed their brains coming up with that?

:giggle: The tigers will surely get lethargic too once it gets warmer again.

 They never think about the photographers when they're designing the enclosures!
