Pets... now with Levi Edit!

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 27, 2009, 9:18 AM

Thank You in advance for every :+fav:, :+devwatch: and comment!!

Have you feed your Hadrian today?

*Edit* Please welcome Levi!

She moved in with us yesterday. Oh, boy... she's a real cuddler. She even starts purring when you just walk past her or talk with her. One would think it's a dog cause she keeps following us everywhere. Levi is roughly nine month old. She's a white throat and small white patches on her front paws and one hind paw and a nearly white right hind leg. :giggle: A real cutie!! :aww:

And I'm aware that Levi is a boys name. But we just loved it. :giggle:

Sorry for my lack of activity lately. ^^; But I’ve been super busy. We’re getting a cat! I’m totally excited :boogie: Also it’s more like we’re expecting a baby. :XD: We’ve made the whole flat cat-proof, we went totally bonkers shopping cat-things (I still think we need more toys!). I spent two hours puzzling the cat tree together. ^^; Everything is already put into place. All we need is the cat.
On Saturday we’re visiting the pet-shelter again. Hopefully the cat we saw last time is still there. :fingerscrossed:

Oh... and of course you can expect loooooooads of photos once the cat is here!!

I’d also like to thank everyone who send me a link to their pets. I hope you’ll enjoy this little feature as much as I do. (btw... cats definitively rule!!! :giggle:)

Hope you are as fortunate as I was when I got my new cat in July. He is such a easy cat to live with and so much fun. Except maybe in the middle of the night when he lays next to me and purrs loudly. :) It is so great that you are checking out the shelter. My new guy was found as a stray, is 4 or 5 years old, was microchipped but never registered, neutered and well cared for. I have no idea why his past owners never came looking for him. I showed him once where he can scratch and he only uses what I have provided. (couple berber rug samples that I got at a carpet store)

I look forward to seeing you new addition!

I do hope that it will be so easy. It's our first pet. ^^;
The one we've our eyes on was really sweet too. I hope that the first impression isn't to deceiving with shelter cats.

No matter how big, a kitty is still a kitty!
:icongeorgiarose:
Actually from my experience with photographing them, the really friendly ones are very easy to identify. They will purr when you pick them up and are very friendly and well socialized. They do not frighten easily and seem to really enjoy the fact that you are willing to give them attention. Actually, Hawkeye would hiss initially when anyone came near him and then purr constantly once you picked him up. I think the habit of hissing first was due to him not seeing well and being a little worried about what was happening. He rarely hisses any more since he is now comfortable in his surroundings. Another good way is to ask the staff which are their favorites and which ones they think will work out best for you. Of course I know the staff well and they told me to check him out and just ignore the fact that he would hiss at first.

It is much more difficult to introduce a second or third cat into a home than the first one.

:w00t!: Congratulations on expecting your first kitten! Have you guys picked out a name yet? Will it be a boy or girl? Blue or Brown eyes? Light or Dark hair? You'll have to show us a pic of the proud parents with their newest addition! Next thing we know you'll be Hadrian the pet-cat photographer rather than the Zoo and Garden Photographer. :giggle:

Cats are so much fun! Both of ours are shelter kitties, and they both are still as laid back now as they were when we picked them out. Congrats on the new addition!

And thank you so very much for the feature!
